Negative experience: I’m regular customer, was disappointed when I went to get a drink after my game was told it was just after licencing time which was fine however 10 minutes later I watch the lady behind the bar pull drink for someone else. Just felt unfair, as paying customer

Positive experience: Lots of free parking and feels nice and big inside. Just a shame how you have to book well in advance and the price is a bit steep too.

Fantastic experience: We booked in for a staff social and the events team Evelina and Dylan helped us set up an introduction to padel session followed by a tournament for all staff to play in. The session was great for those that had played before and those new to the sport. A great afternoon that everyone enjoyed. We stayed in the bar afterwards and had a few drinks to finish the day off all facilitated by the great staff team

Negative experience: First time I've been to this Padel place but after my recent experience with a staff member named Eve, I honestly don’t think I’ll be coming back. Her attitude was incredibly unprofessional—dismissive, rude, and completely lacking in basic customer service courtesy. It felt like she didn’t want to be there and made no effort to hide it. Dealing with Eve was frustrating and frankly, disappointing. When you're running a business that relies on people coming back and recommending it to others, the bare minimum should be treating customers with respect. Based on this experience, I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Eve should not be in a customer-facing role—full stop. A real shame, because the facilities themselves are decent. But the staff make or break an experience, and this one left a very sour taste.

Fantastic experience: We had a fantastic staff event at WeArePadel-Derby – a huge thank you to Dylan and the team for making it such a success. The whole experience was really well organised, and Dylan did a brilliant job coordinating our tournament. Everyone had a great time, whether they were new to padel or had played before. We’d highly recommend both the sport and the team at WeArePadel-Derby to anyone looking for a fun, energetic and well-run group activity!

Negative experience: Charging £80 to hire a court is shameful. I appreciate this company is all about making a profit but how can they justify these ridiculous prices, it easy to see why so many courts are sitting empty - SHAMEFUL

Negative experience: Can’t complain about the courts, I always enjoy playing. The atmosphere is good and the people are friendly. However the customer service is poor. I, like many others have got a parking fine. I’ve tried to contact wearepadel via instagram, received an automatic reply to tell me to email. I have emailed, no response for several days. Tried to call, never any answer, doesn’t ring. I’ve just seen several responses to reviews going back months now and the excuse from the club is that the phone was stolen. I think that’s something that should have been sorted by now. As others have said the cost is very high, some of that money needs to be spent on better customer service.

Fantastic experience: After a bit of a shakey start Sam from the club has helped me organise trip for a group of people travelling from further afield. They've been attentive and helpful, and the club looks great!

Fantastic experience: Booked online for 1hr padel with my wife and two sons on arrival told the court was free for children and was refunded the £40 also gave us bats and balls. The staff were brilliant. Thankyou above and beyond our expectation

Negative experience: No warning about a potential parking fine. Got hustled for £6.80 to buy a box of balls on top of what is an expensive gig already what with court fees and racket rental. Ball loan shud be complimentary. Despite the rinsing, the game is a lot of fun but too expensive to play regularly

Negative experience: Helpful staff and good fun with friends but, in my opinion, it’s too expensive for what it is so won’t be making a hobby out of this. If you’re looking for something cheaper and a way to burn a lot of calories, try squash instead.

I'll be honest I've never played and don't fancy it either. £40 for an hour on the court that's the 1st issue, extortionate for a working man on 50 hour weeks. The place was empty at 9am and didn't look very inviting at all. Racket hire and balls make this a very expensive sport only for the rich and famous! As the king would say, not for me your majesty however cash will always be king

Fantastic experience: Aidan and Mal.. real legends in the game... Made our introduction to padel an absolute breeze. Both young but very professional and knowledgeable in their approach to the sport. If you've not tried please do and seek out either of these two coaches. 5 stars..

Negative experience: The building is nice and there are a lot of cubicles to play in. The main issue is the status of the toilet, showers and locker room which are unbelievable considering how big the venue is. From this prospective I hope they can make important improvement about it

Negative experience: Myself and my son used to love coming here but the prices have now got so obscenely expensive that we save ourselves money & go to the Maldives for 2 weeks instead

Negative experience: Current pricing is obscene. £40 an hour is ridiculous, especially when Nottingham is half the price. Despite coming here since it's opening, I cannot justify coming here any longer. The courts are great, staff are good, and the bar is an added bonus, but prices are untenable.

Negative experience: Poor changing facilities, zero money spent on maintenance, and now no off peak rates, not worth £40 per hour.

Negative experience: Used to play a lot but sadly it’s no longer an option. Padel was £24 p/hour in summer 2023 then it went to £28.50 then to £36 and now it’s £40 p/hour. No justification or membership options, just greed…

Negative experience: Picked up Padel halfway through 2023 and have really enjoyed playing over the past six months. Unfortunately, it is now too expensive (obscenely expensive) to play at We Are Padel Derby. After price increases in Jan 2024, it is now £40 for a one hour game. £60 for a 1.5 hour game. £80 for a two hour game (?!). It's a real shame to see greed at play. The Padel courts are fantastic, but the toilets have been out of order for the past six months, and the wider facilities are not that great... Something you put up with for a fun game, but not at £40 an hour. Especially given that's just for the court - Padel balls and rackets not included. We Are Padel should revert to the previous pricing (which was expensive, but competitive considering they are indoor courts), and introduce a membership system. In the meantime, the LTA website can direct you to other courts (Nottingham - £20 for a one hour game, Church Broughton - £26 for a one hour game during peak hours).

Negative experience: Playing the actual sport was fun and the facilities are nice but it was extremely expensive for one court for an hour. So it's only for people with a lot of money to play on a regular basis. Also, my friend and I were the only two women in there. Felt like a boys club. The players next to us were using the 'c' word when they weren't doing well not taking us into consideration. Was not a good experience.

Negative experience: Price has increased to the point that it's not viable to play once or twice per week. Doubles = £10 each for 1 x hour session. That's £40 per month. £80 if we'd play twice per week. Poor business desicion based on greed and the sports rising popularity. Massive shame!

Negative experience: Unable to play any more due to the price rises. I had a difficult decision between playing padel for 1 hour or feeding my family for an entire week. I opted for the latter option which provides me with more long term satisfaction than hitting a ball over a net for 1 hour in a place with poor changing facilities and rude staff.

Negative experience: I have loved playing padel over the last year, however the way in which staff are handling paying customers in their WhatsApp chat is unprofessional. I would no longer recommend padel derby to friends or family and instead tell them to try the Nottingham courts (for half the price). Amenities are not up to scratch with the men’s toilets unsanitary and have been out of action for 6+ months. Improvements need to be made for padel derby to retain its regular clientele.

Negative experience: I first started playing at the start of 2023, the staff were very welcoming and lots of offers to entice new players. But as the months have gone on, price increase after price increase with the facilities getting worse and offers and incentives being removed. Extremely disappointing experience and has truly put me off going back. I no longer recommend them to padel players, I will send them to the Nottingham courts instead. The toilets are horrendous. Each week it felt like another urinal was out of service. How can they justify another prices increase in 2024? We shouldn’t be forking out the bill for THEIR toilet issues. And don’t get me started on the whatsapp chat, god forbid you ask for clarification else you will be removed! WOULD NOT RECOMMEND. Spend your money elsewhere.

Negative experience: After attending a couple of free taster sessions I was really excited to play more Padel. The staff were really welcoming but since I started there have been multiple price rises with more planned for January 2024. The management operate a WhatsApp group with 650 people which is great to find a game to join, but people aren’t allowed to voice concerns around the poor changing facilities, increased prices etc. It feels like this is sadly a sport for the well off and management care more about profit than anything else. Management have created a really uncomfortable and unwelcoming social community too.

Fantastic experience: If you haven't tried Padel yet then you should, presuming you have some hand eye coordination it is really fun.

Positive experience: Use this place for a pre match drink for Derby games. Lovely open space with plenty of screens to watch a match. Only downside is the men's toilets a lot of the urinals are out of order regularly so queuing can be long on a match day.

Fantastic experience: This place is not just some fancy. This place represents the best of pádel in the UK. 12 indoor, top specifications, pádel courts. Great facilities for a drink after match. Changing rooms and showers. Special mention to the staff too. It usually gets pretty busy weekdays post 5 pm so make sure you book in advance through Playtomic.

Fantastic experience: I started coming to Derby We Are Padel in April '23 and immediately found it friendly and welcoming with a staff that will do their best to help whatever the circumstance. The atmosphere is great and everybody gets on. There is the choice of either open or private matches as well as club driven events most days which encourage both socialising and teamwork. The whole team ( including owners Roscoe and Leander ) should be proud of what they are achieving.

The ethos of the place is great - everyone’s welcome and the main aim is to get people into the sport and include a social experience too. Love this place. Went again tonight to be Told we had to all pay £2.50 each to hire the Padel bat - so worked out at £40 for one hour which I thought a bit cheeky to be honest - we had not been informed by email of this extra charge either .

Positive experience: Positive: Great venue and good set up. The app is easy to use and there are plenty of options. Negatives: the opening times are haphazard and I have been twice for the first slots of the day and been waiting up 20min. I have been 3 times without booking for a game in the week and they couldn’t be bothered to open ! (Change your opening hours to will open if booked only) I don’t agree with the pricing structure charge £20ph off peak and £30ph peak however no definition on what’s peak and what’s not (staff don’t know either) The bar is fairly well stocked but avoid the overpriced sewage water they call coffee, twice bitten now, never again. Staffing is hit and miss like most places nowadays, some are there to help and some are just stealing a living. Seems to be run by kids. Overall: I really want Padel to succeed, however needs better management and more structure and decent coffee machine would help (missed opportunity).
