The Padel Hub Reading: Reviews
Negative experience: You are having a laugh with the newest price hike. Great facility otherwise.
Negative experience: £105 for hour and half is a joke, why are places trying to kill padel in this country
Fantastic experience: Go every week love it
Negative experience: Really enjoyed my first padel experience, Zac deserves a special mention for showing the patience of a saint with me in my intro! Updated on 03/08/25 - not sure what has happened to Zac, but my second experience was awful, not as enjoyable as all... Such a shame, not sure I'll be going back again... Much cheaper options locally.
Thank you, we are delighted to hear you enjoyed your Intro to Padel session
Negative experience: *UPDATE* After dropping prices, they’re now back up to £60. I’m off to Sonning again. Thought I’d be first to vent my frustration at the prices you are charging for courts. £80 for a 1 hour court is ridiculous. And membership options are also crazy if you actually have a job and can’t play midweek 9-5. This is obvious profit taking and sustaining Padel as an upper middle class sport. I’d recommend paying £40 per hour at alternative courts in Bracknell, Sonning and Tilehurst. Still very expensive, but half the price.
Thanks for the update Rog, hope you've secured your courts!
Fantastic experience: Excellent free introduction, which was very enjoyable. Defo be back
Fantastic experience: Excited to have this place in Reading. State of the art facilities, great bathrooms and showers, classes now available for all levels. After the session you can relax with a drink in the cafe and watch other players on the courts. Zac is amazing, he tailors his coaching to your level and adapts his advice to the technique that comes most naturally to you. Booked my first New to Padel lesson with Brad and can’t wait to get stuck into it. Can’t wait to get my Playtomic rank soon too. Excited about learning something new, something technical and hard, but also chaotic and fun
Fantastic experience: Excellent hospitality really enjoyed it here thank you Zack I really appreciate what you did for me and my brothers today definitely will be coming back
Fantastic experience: A great hub for Padel (the clue's in the name). Super friendly and helpful staff and coaches, good coffee and a well stocked bar

Fantastic experience: The courts were really nice and the racket hire was reasonable. Brooke was incredibly friendly amd helped me and my partner with all the questions we had. Would definitely come back!
Thanks Scarlett!
Negative experience: How much?? I've done a few events with work at padel clubs in Bristol, derby and Gloucester so was really excited when I googled Padel Reading! This is way too expensive
Fantastic experience: lovely place and great court quality! probably the best tennis place i’ve visited in a while :) playing there is worth every £ if u ask me! amazing staff and customer service, especially the employee named nikola she is truly an angel.
Thank you Natalia, we are delighted to hear you enjoyed your visit and look forward to seeing you at The Hub again soon
Fantastic experience: Great atomosphere, lovely staff and the courts were fantastic!!
Fantastic experience: Lovely court quality, great atmosphere and kind staff. Amazing support from coach/instructor Zac. Would highly recommend free intros!
Negative experience: Can't help but feel this is a real wasted opportunity due to the silly price tag. I've been really excited for Padel to come to Reading as I've played elsewhere and went to one of the free intro sessions that was good. I signed up for a mixer session (£20) to be told when I arrived I have to also pay to rent the padel bat for an additional £5. So £25 is the cost to play - if you want to book a court with friends that's gonna cost you £100... Price aside, unfortunately there was hardly anyone at the mixer and those that were had memberships and were v. good so it didn't feel very accessible for someone like me trying to get into the sport. Decided to save the £5 and leave. Just a real shame. Hopefully affordable Padel comes to Reading and I'll be the first one there. As a comparison the courts in Bristol I went to previously would cost about £40 for a court Vs £100 in Reading and off-peak membership is £50 Vs £119 in Reading.
Hi Dan, we're sorry to hear this. Our courts at Reading are priced at £40 per hour currently (£10 per person). We would love to welcome you to The Hub again for an Intro to Padel session which is free for those who have not played at The Hub before or you can book a lesson with our coach! Alternatively, we would recommend booking an open match via Playtomic. Please email [email protected]
Fantastic experience: Excellent court quality. Coach Zac was very supportive, encouraging, and inspiring.
Fantastic experience: Great facilities and really looking forward to the new renovations that are being put in place. Lovely staff.
Fantastic experience: Great venue and atmosphere, and customer service thanks Nikola who was patient to wait till we finish our game and assisted us to get back one our ball
Positive experience: Really enjoyed our (free) intro session. Zac is a great instructor / coach. Very encouraging and engaging. Place looks great. Prices are high though!
Positive experience: So excited about this opening in Reading. I really hope they can find a way to thrive as a business but make it affordable. They may be testing the water with these prices but I'm pretty sure that will struggle. Let's hope they rethink and drastically reduce and I will go and play. Update. Only fair to try the place out so went for taster session tonight. Parking was tricky but they have a plan for that. Staff very friendly. Only had 3 in session plus coach which was perfect. Excellent friendly and fun young coach. Really impressed. The place is being finished but great venue. Hopefully they will offer maybe daytime deals to fill quiet periods and manage to make a profitable business slightly more affordable. I would definitely play again. Easier than tennis and a twist on squash. Well done!
Fantastic experience: Great facilities and amazing customer service from Gregg.
Negative experience: Way too expensive for the price you pay. Nothing premium about it at all.
Fantastic experience: Great venue with great atmosphere. I don’t understand why people are complaining about the price of the membership. Yes, it’s higher than the others but no one else offers 5 indoor courts with a good height of ceiling as well as organisation of events and tournaments. I think for any serious Padel player, this is by far the best venue and the 2nd best is in Slough and that’s also a Padel Hub venue. I’ll definitely be signing on.
Negative experience: The joint minimum membership where you’d want to select (i.e playing outside of 9am - 5pm) is £322 a month. It’s good there are new things popping up in Reading, but, this is simply too expensive for anyone unless they’re absolutely committed to paddleboarding. You can join high end gyms, including Royal Berkshire David Lloyd, Virgin Active London access to PureGym which have tennis / badminton courts for less.
Positive experience: A bit pricey but location is close to town center and is indoors. Courts are new so takes a while to be fully usable. Rackets can be rented for £5. Could have more refreshments e.g. Gatorade etc.
Negative experience: Shocking prices - unusable with what’s being charged
Negative experience: What a disappointment! Was really excited when I heard about this opening, but the prices are ridiculous. Not talking about 10% or 20% than usual, but double! Genuinely hope this stays open and does well as padel is a great sport, but at these prices the place will be empty
