Fantastic experience: I've been to quite a few Bannatyne spas, today my friend and I visited Ingleby Barwick. We were greated by Daisy who was so professional showing us around. Susan the café manager specially helpful. Thank you all.

Positive experience: Joined Ingleby Barwick club a year ago, a bit apprehensive as just left DL. Really helpful friendly staff.. The club is always really clean, and any maintenance required is quickly acted upon. The biggest surprise is that they actually respond to feedback swiftly & act on it unlike my previous club. The only reason I’ve given 4 stars is we need some new gym mats but I’ve been informed they’re in the pipeline!

Negative experience: So disappointed with the spa day. Was stood being ignored for most part in the "Spa" area that was next to a nail bar. Wasn't given a robe etc and was not shown around This was suppose to be a spa day and because I felt so uncomfortable then I left not long after my treatment On the plus note my treatment I received from Caitlyn was fantastic and eased my jiggly bits on my back. My partner paid a good amount of mony for this spa and I felt like I didn't get the experience I was expecting.

Fantastic experience: Very well run gym

Negative experience: not what i expected from a spa. pool was full of kids all day, and quite cold - got kicked out of it for a fitness class - my massage was nice but they’d pushed it back 20 minutes without telling me so I was sat waiting in a robe for half an hour. the relaxation room was nice and the steam room and sauna were functional, if not a little busy. Maybe I should’ve done more research but not what I expected from a ‘spa’ experience. felt more like a day pass to the local leisure centre.

Positive experience: It's not as good as the Darlington gym

Fantastic experience: Had a bad shoulder for months then after jasmine recommended a shoulder back basssge it was the best decision ever I didn’t realise how tight my back and shoulder’s were but now I feel fantastic thank you so much

Negative experience: The gym is poorly equipped and maintained. There are no staff in the gym to assist. The manager is not remotely interested in member feedback and could not be less helpful. Vicky on reception really needs to learn some customer service skills.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been going to Bannatyne Spa for a couple of years now, today I received a back, neck, shoulder massage and facial from Simona. This was by far the best experience I’ve had here. Simona was superb at tailoring the pressure where needed, even gave me a head massage during my facial. Cannot recommend enough!! Thank you.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been here a number of times for Spa days with friends, and it never disappoints. Yes, the pool area feels a bit dated, but I really go for the pampering in the spa. Super friendly and helpful staff and therapists, lovely treatments. Big shout out to Jasmine who does THE best back massages and always makes me feel super comfortable

Fantastic experience: What a fantastic experience I’ve had today at Bannatyne spa, I had a back massage, arms & hands, plus the most gorgeous facial off Francesca!! she worked so well on my back and explained everything she was doing & putting the creams & oils on my face. Fantastic experience: Great facial tonight with Morgan, she was polite and knowledgeable and I ended up buying a lovely product that she recommended (no pushy sales whatsoever she genuinely just gave the best information and product advice suited to me) I suffer a lot with stress and for tonight it just felt like she took those problems away and that is a feeling money cannot buy.

Positive experience: Spa Day Treat. Pool, treatments were excellent. Food absolutely the best of any Bannatyne's so far visited (Norwich; Peterborough; Cheshire Oaks; Darlington & Edinburgh) & incredibly reasonable but come on Bannatyne's £10 charge ea for towel, robe & flip flops - these used to be free/part of spa experience. No notification we'd have to pay for these just left a bit of a sour taste on an otherwise excellent day out.

Positive experience: Spa experience not very good. Booked for 2 and had to go in Separate rooms even tho we said we wanted it together at time of booking. Also facial wasnt very good, to much gloop and half the exfoliater was still in my brows and on my face when I left. The back massage was OK tho. The facilities were OK too

Fantastic experience: This is our favourite place for a spa day, the the staff are lovely and the spa ladies do the best treatments. The food is always nice and really reasonably priced. Loads of seating around the pool area which is great if there's a few of you doing a spa day together. The jacuzzi is a good size and plenty of room so you're not sat on top of each other. Definitely recommend.

Negative experience: People who work in there very nice smile to you when they sell you a shot of alcohol.then they see what car you draiving.and call to police to report dring driving. I get pulled three times each timer pass alcohol testing. But now because the amount of calls from bannatyne them mark my car as potentially drink driving. And now I get pulled everyday twice in the morning on the way to work and on the way to home. Each time we wait for another police car to bring a test because they don't have. Car search..... It takes them around hour and a half.. so I spent now everyday 3 hours more in the car because the beautiful People who work in bannatyne. To avoid don't park in the car park or do not order any alcohol. From the other members I find out they do it quite often to everybody who buys the alcohol. Just don't buy it.... I travel a lot and I was in a lot of bannatynes.this one first personnel i ever seen. It looks like it's boring for them and call to police. Is a very exciting adventure...

Fantastic experience: I primarily use the gym. I have used other local facilities and found them insufficient in comparison. The friendly and helpful staff are always on hand and the gym itself is well stocked with equipment.

Negative experience: I'm actually sat here having my "2 course lunch" which consists of the most expensive poached eggs on toast, my husband is having nothing. Not even a drink as they don't even include an orange juice, just hot drinks. The spa menu was nowhere to be seen on the website. The choice was a jacket potato or poached eggs and hot drinks only. The spa itself is tired, In need of updating and certainly doesn't warrant being called a spa. The massages were the best bit, we only wished we hadn't bothered with the booking of the "spa" and went for a 60 minute treatment each. At least then we may not have felt robbed. £20 it cost us to use a robe and towel too!! My advice would be to stay away. If you want to experience a spa, spend your money elsewhere. We don't get many days together and this was more than disappointing. £144 down the drain.

Fantastic experience: I had the most amazing full body massage from the lovely Niomi this evening,I've been going to Ingelby Barwick for over 3 years now,and the girls are amazing and friendly! My visits was fantastic,I have never fell asleep on the table and missed my experience as I was that relaxed,I drove home in such a lovely positive mood and I know tonight I will have the best sleep on which is well needed due to my treatment today. I rate 5* as always Thankyou Niomi you really are fantastic at your job!well done

Negative experience: Left following the correct terms an conditions of the club Now getting letters and phone calls saying I ow for the rest of my membership witch is incorrect The reasons why I lift is the fact the some of the staff are very rude Will just carry on talking when you are waiting to by a drink or food The wights are never in the correct place at all And the steam room is dirty along with the swimming pool Would not recommend at all

Negative experience: Unfortunately haven't really got anything positive to say about this experience. Paid over £100 for 3 treatments for myself and my mother as a treat for her birthday. On arrival I was told I was late and that my appointment time had been changed to earlier in the day. Checked emails messages etc they was nothing to say they had notified me of this. However they said they could ' squeeze us in'. We were rushed through filled out a disclaimer to which we were told to skip and just sign it at the end. We were both given a 15 minute rushed back massage which was suppose to take half an hour. Myself and my mam both agreed we felt rushed and treat like an inconvenience. Due to my mams cancer and risk of infection we couldn't make use of the other facilities pool, sauna etc so the money we paid and experience was solely for the purpose of the 3 treatments we paid for but didn't get . Over £100 spent on a 15 minute back massage. I raised a complaint to which the reply was they would offer us another back massage however this is still not what we booked and paid for ! I then requested a partial refund to which I have been ignored . Iv gave them chance to resolve this but due to no further contact iv decided to leave this review. Very unprofessional rushed and disappointing experience which I paid a lot of money for would not recommend this

Fantastic experience: Had an amazing spa day here with my daughter. Lovely warm pool and jacuzzi. Staff very helpful and friendly. The spa is so relaxing. I would join if I could afford it. But will be having more spa days this year

Negative experience: Poor customer service would advise against using. Called a couple of times to cancel my out of contract membership at the start of December effective from 31st December. The sales team were unavailable and was then told to email them instead. I then cancelled the direct believing the matter was sorted. The email address provided was incorrect and subsequently left the account open. Today I received an arrear email. I call to rectify the matter and resent the original email. I am now told I'm required to pay another month's membership for a gym i cannot access under threats of debt colletion agencies. Although this is ridiculous I stated I would pay affordable reduced amount via direct debit to resolve this. As I already have a new membership with another gym. I was advised this was unreasonable and that I was raising my voice . despite Informing the manager I was stood outside work next to a noisy machine , no swearing, no threats, she then hung up on me. Despite numerous calls back they company is now refusing to answer. How am i to resolve this when you wont take a call?

Negative experience: Went to buy my partner a gift voucher for Christmas I wanted to pay cash and was told they don't do cash sales absolute joke. I'll take my money elsewhere.

Negative experience: Went for massage treatment for back neck and shoulder pain, second visit…both times … staff polite … but laid on table for about 10 mins waiting for them to come in and start and then they stop about 5 mins before end of treatment so you dont really get your full time… so 25 min massage lasted 15 or so mins.. for £50…also therapist was light on the effort did ask for more pressure still light… dissapointing .. walked out like i went in, felt no different.

Positive experience: Went to view re joining a club, just a tad disappointed. Not very big, bit dated, no lift for those of us with limited mobility, but still want to be active, yet still a little pricey on the membership side. Not for me, I'm afraid

Negative experience: Just left after 3 years or so and attending at least 4 times a week. Not once in that time have the freeweights been racked or organised that I have seen. Freeweight area is frequently left a mess. Almost impossible to use the scales in the landing area, I don’t understand what the issue is in the background but even the staff aren’t ‘allowed’ to help members utilise this piece of equipment, how else am I supposed to track my progress and monitor my stats? Why even have them there at all? Swimming pool cold. Steam room not steamy. Mobile phones not being permitted in the lounge area next to the swimming pool is a perfectly reasonable and sensible rule but feels like it’s only enforced if you are male? Stuck around as I was on a cheap deal via gympass but I’ve even cancelled that and gone to a gym twice as expensive where I won’t have the above issues.

Negative experience: Booked a spa day for my wife's Birthday. Only to have a telephone call four hours before . To cancel it . As they were short on staff. And could not fo the treatment as a pair which was booked.

Positive experience: Can I start by saying the spa treatments were excellent. As we sat round the pool relaxing I was reading on my phone and the pool aerobics teacher said I couldn't use it, and that the gentleman using a tablet could use his . What difference is it what devise you read on? The teacher then took out her mobile phone and used it to deliver her session. Being Bannatynes I thought it would be pristine; however, the pool area was very old fashioned with the paint peeling off the walls, and it was quite drab.

Fantastic experience: Visited Ingleby Barwick Spa yesterday I really enjoyed my time there. The staff are fantastic, friendly and helpful. We felt really welcomed. The facial and massage was lovely and relaxing. The facilities were modern, clean and really nice. It felt like a really posh day out,a real treat. Thank you every one. Even the jacket spuds were delicious.

Negative experience: Absolutely disgusting! Joined on a deal they had where if you cancelled same day as joining you got 2 months for 1. So that’s what I did. Even though they admit that I handed my band in they have continued to take payments for over a year. They don’t want to know even though they have proof I haven’t been there. Shocking, GREEDY company. Ducan should be ashamed of himself if this is how he thinks customers should be treated!

Positive experience: Only used the spa and cafe bar. Very much enjoyed my massage and thought the staff very professional. Followed my treatment with lunch in the cafe bar which was very nice.

Positive experience: Really good facilities, good pool to swim, sauna and steam room as well as a jacuzzi which are all very clean. To give 5* it would be great if there were loungers around the pool as well as no ability to order drinks or snacks around the pool, however all in all, a good place to relax.
