Park Sports Hyde Park: Reviews
Fantastic experience: I’ve been playing here for a decade now - the facilities are fantastic, and the people are truly lovely. Coach Falid is an outstanding coach with exceptional technique and a thoughtful, clear approach to every element of the game - it is his guidance that’s made a real difference to my development in the sport :) Cannot recommend him and this place enough!
Hi Maria, Thank you for taking the time to share such a positive review of Park Sports Hyde Park.
Negative experience: I had a very disappointing and discriminatory experience at this tennis facility. I arrived about 10 minutes before my game with my service dog, who is trained to assist me in case of epilepsy attacks. From the moment I walked in, the woman at the reception stared at me as if I wasn’t welcome. When I went to rent a tennis racket, she immediately said, “dogs are not allowed.” I calmly explained that my dog is a certified service animal and showed her the documentation. She still insisted that he couldn’t be on the court, so I clarified that he would stay quietly nearby and would only need to assist me in case of a medical emergency. About 20 minutes into our game, the same receptionist ran onto the court shouting at me about my dog, interrupting the match and embarrassing me in front of everyone. I asked her if, hypothetically, I were to have a seizure without my service dog present, would she take responsibility and she bluntly said “of course not.” We ended up having to leave the court that we had already paid for because of this treatment. This place clearly discriminates against people with disabilities, and it’s unacceptable. I will be taking legal action as I’ve since learned that I’m not the first person to experience discrimination here. I strongly advise anyone with a disability or service animal to avoid this place they do not respect accessibility laws or basic human decency.
Fantastic experience: Fantastic facilities – without question the best tennis centre in London. The real highlight, however, is Coach Falid. He is in high demand and understandably hard to book, but that’s because he is truly exceptional. Falid is a world-class coach who works brilliantly with families, children, and professionals alike. His ability to adapt his coaching style to every level makes him stand out, and the progress you see under his guidance is remarkable. I cannot recommend him highly enough.
Hi AO, Thank you for taking the time to post such a positive review! We're glad you enjoyed your visit to Park Sports and will pass on your feedback onto Coach Falid!
Negative experience: There should be more awareness of organisations and their managers that discriminate towards disabled people. Parks Sport Hyde Park forget that they are a service provider. They also disregard the fact that discrimination is prohibited by the Equality Act 2010 (“the Act“). Under section 29(1) of the Act, a service-provider concerned with the provision of a service to the public or a section of the public (whether for payment or not) must not discriminate against a person requiring the service. My first experience of Parks Sport Hyde Park processes was very bad and it is clear that is run with bigotry views towards disability needs. The advertising on their website and by Royal Parks is dishonest. My second review is that Parks Sports Ltd is not an inclusive place as they advertise and Royal Parks should take note of who they endorse to the public. The public includes disabled btw! Avoid supporting such a depraved company. If you are a disabled person with a dog be expected to see less favourable treatment and turned away. Even the manager acts in bad faith refusing to recognise what reasonable adjustments are. Due to the ignorance of the manager that clearly declined to provide my full refund for a class that is within the cancellation period. After being denied reasonable adjustments. I have had to cancel the beginners course £145 and I was looking forward to in October. The manager also did not expedite my full refund but instead blocked my email after stating I should follow the “Parks Sports process for credits”. It is a very dubious company that has no moral compass. I wont be returning or reusing the credit and can see why there are many 1 star reviews. I have shared my story with disability news service and Instagram.
Negative experience: Very overpriced and serious attitude from the server
Hi Charles, I am sorry to hear about your recent experience at Park Sports Hyde Park. Your feedback has been passed onto to our management team.
Positive experience: There is a cafe here with indoor and outdoor seating, just to the right of the gatehouse at the entrance to Hyde Park opposite Exhibition Road. It is open to anyone although it is part of a sports facility, and in our experience has been less busy than the cafes by the Serpentine. Service was quick, there is a reasonable selection of sandwiches and pastries, and the coffee was excellent.
Hi David, Thank you for taking the time to post such a positive review! We're glad you enjoyed your visit to Park Sports and hope to see you again soon!
Fantastic experience: Had a Chai Latte from the cafe here. Oh my goodness. Delicious. Fluffy and tasty and not too sweet. Really well done. Lovely setting too. Thanks!
Fantastic experience: Excellent courts and surroundings, staff are really helpful, cafe and facilities are good. The website and booking system could not be worse, lets the whole place down.
Fantastic experience: This sports camp is located roughly in the middle of Hyde Park, and they also have other branches in Regent’s Park, Chiswick, and Greenwich. Although I live nearby, this was my first time using this particular location, and I found it to be very well-organised. While the children enjoyed the camp, it was lovely to spend time walking around the Royal Albert Hall and deeper into Hyde Park. Booking tennis courts or lessons in central London—whether on weekdays or weekends—isn’t always easy, so I’d recommend looking into these holiday camps. While children are at camp, parents can enjoy a walk or do a bit of shopping in nearby High Street Kensington or South Kensington. To be honest, camp time can feel like a long wait for parents, so it’s a good opportunity to make the most of the area. I believe they offer not just tennis but also cricket, football, rounders, handball, and more—so do check the website for details.
Hi Louise, Thank you for taking the time to post such a positive review! We're glad you enjoyed your visit to Park Sports and hope to see you again soon!
Negative experience: Every court is booked forever
Hi James, I am sorry to hear you've been having difficulties booking a court at Park Sports Hyde Park. Just to let you know, everyone can book up to 7 days in advance, with new court availability released at 7.00am each morning.
Fantastic experience: Great courts, well maintained and excellent tennis coaching for all ages and abilities. Racket hire available and also a small shop.
Hi William, Thank you for taking the time to post this positive review. We're glad you enjoyed your visit to Park Sports Hyde Park and hope to see you again soon!
Fantastic experience: Nice cafe with a good range of snacks, sandwiches etc. Good coffee. Friendly staff. Quiet outdoor seating behind the cafe.
Hi Iain, Thank you for taking the time to post this positive review. We're glad you enjoyed your visit to Park Sports Hyde Park and hope to see you again soon!
Fantastic experience: They dont take cash. Nice cappuccino though.
Negative experience: Terrible customer service! They are not flexible at all. Cancelled a class 48 hours before it started and they said they wouldn’t credit me back…. Unbelievable!!!!
Hi Dr Sandra, I am sorry to hear about your recent experience at Park Sports Hyde Park. Your feedback has been escalated to our management team, who will investigate the matter internally.
Fantastic experience: Place to be in London
Fantastic experience: Nice place!!!
Negative experience: Enrolled for the Adult Beginner Padel course and suffice to say the extremely poor management of the classes has left bitter taste. We had 3 different coaches covering 4 sessions with 0 knowledge transfer of what was taught in previous class. In fact session 4 coach decided to let us just play by ourselves without any guidance - a joke to be frank ! Session 3 coach made us do warm up exercises for 10 mins in an hour long class and taught us concepts without fully allowing us enough time to ‘play out what we learnt’. Last minute weather cancellations are a norm with no rescheduling of the class (a refund was offered for the session though) which meant our learning experience would be incomplete. Requested an escalation to their management and yet to hear a reply.
Hi Mohamed, I am sorry to hear about your recent experience at Park Sports Hyde Park. Your feedback has been escalated to our management team, who will investigate the matter internally.
Positive experience: Fantastic cafe to have a nice coffee and snack before attending Albert Hall
Negative experience: This morning, I invited a friend to play tennis at Hyde Park, a court I had praised for its quality. Unfortunately, we had an unpleasant experience. Upon arrival, a staff member—whom I had often seen at the reception desk—approached my friend at the court, ignoring me (the one who booked it), and rudely told him he couldn’t coach there, asking us to leave without introducing himself or offering an explanation. The way we were treated lacked both respect and professionalism. What’s more, the staff member accused us without even bothering to have a respectful conversation. Both my friend and I were shocked not only by the accusation but by the outright disrespect. We are customers, and all we ask for is to be treated with respect by the staff. A proper gentleman or lady working in customer service or reception should know how to address people courteously and professionally. Sadly, this individual failed to do so. In sports, whether tennis or otherwise, respect should come first. It’s disheartening when rare incidents like this shake our confidence in a venue. I apologized to my friend and promised to address the situation with management, but no apology has been offered to us so far.
Hi Maria, I am sorry to hear about your recent experience at Park Sports Hyde Park. We always strive to maintain a welcoming and respectful environment, so I understand how disappointing this must have been for both you and your friend. Your feedback has been relayed to our management team, who will investigate the matter internally.
Fantastic experience: Friendly staff, tasty coffee. Good & clean facilities
Positive experience: Its a very nice area for sitting down for a tea or coffee, playing temnis or table tennis...but the 2 small areas for young children are abysmal , must have been there since the 80's, totally out of tune with kids today. Also at the bottom of the horrid shiny metal slide the landing is made of tarmac, not a nice landing for a small child. Real 3rd world.....
Hi Caroline, thank you for taking the time to leave a review. I have been informed by management staff that the children’s playground, managed by The Royal Parks, is scheduled for maintenance work after the summer holidays are over.
Fantastic experience: Amazing flat white and pasta de Nata.
Negative experience: Wish they had rain protection
Fantastic experience: Lovely oasis in our capital.
Negative experience: It does look like a lovely cafe, however the accessibility and politeness of staff are unfortunately things that need to be improved. I saw that there was a collapsible ramp that could be used to access the front door. However if you are in a wheelchair or a stroller and are alone there is no way to notify staff. I had a stroller with 2 children, when I asked a staff member behind the counter to open the door for me so I could exit, she told me to ask the woman standing behind the tennis court counter. The café was not busy and there were at least 4 people behind the cafe counter. There was one staff member behind the tennis counter. The woman behind the tennis court counter was lovely. Just help and open the door it takes 30 seconds.
Hi Caitlin, I am sorry to hear about your recent experience at Park Sports Hyde Park. Your feedback has been relayed to our management team, who will investigate the matter internally.
Fantastic experience: Thank you.
Negative experience: Regular member at Regents Park but the customer service at Hyde Park is very poor which is surprising given the courts are more expensive.
Hi Milan, I am sorry to hear about your recent experience at Park Sports Hyde Park. Your feedback has been relayed to our management team, who will investigate the matter internally.
Positive experience: A great place to stop for coffee and pastries in one's way in or out of the park.
Positive experience: Seems nice ! I’m sure the people playing the sports would be having fun!
Positive experience: Cozy little Café...
Fantastic experience: This cafe was an excellent spot to relax and have a cup of tea. They have grab and go food, plenty of seating and a good location. It was a good stop spot after walking around parks for most of the day.
Negative experience: I attended a session which was advertised as a course with coaching advice. During the session, the coach didn't say a word about tennis to me apart from 2 inappropriate jokes. I reached out to the managers, but they said that according to the coach, he dedicated the most time to me. Simply lying. My word against his, and they don't care about the customer. Terrible experience.
Hi, I am sorry you feel the coaching experience did not meet your expectations. If you want to email us directly at [email protected] with your contact details, then I will pass them on to our General Manager.
Fantastic experience: Great great place and in central London!!! Lessons always on time and I am playing so much better. Also a great coffee stop!!
Positive experience: great place
Fantastic experience: A nice setting for a game of tennis
Fantastic experience: Great enjoyed the tennis
Negative experience: Terrible service, super rude staff.
Hi Fanni, Thank you for taking the time to post this review. I’m sorry to hear you had a bad experience at our café. We have taken your feedback on board and passed it onto our management team.
Negative experience: Toasted panini was cold and v overpriced. Rude careless staff
Hi Rae, Thank you for taking the time to post this review. I’m sorry to hear you had a bad experience at our café. We have taken your feedback on board and passed it onto our management team.
Fantastic experience: Great location for a coffee, drink or chill out. A hidden oasis in central london
Hi Paul, Thank you for the positive feedback and photos! We hope to see you again at Park Sports Hyde Park.
Negative experience: As for the 3 pounds single express. Is not only terrible but service is sloppy and terribly slow. Today I waited at least 5 minutes after the coffe was ready as the barman was chatting with a colleague. This place clearly enjoy a location advantage but the service is the worst
Fantastic experience: Coffee was great, but the items are definitely on the more expensive side. Nice service!
Negative experience: Very Rude staff . She need education and learn how to talk with costumer then work in such this place .
Positive experience: Great location. Cafe is overpriced and person serving was quite abrupt and ignorant. Shame really, she let the experience down.
Positive experience: The fact that the tennis courts exist is awesome. The price/quality ratio could be much better. You pay 17.5 pounds for an outdoor tennis court with semi-professional surface which can easily be wet from the rain, and you don’t even get a descent changing room with lockers - what they offer is a corner to change your clothes in the toilet/shower room. I expected a much fancier building interior
Hi Alexey, Thank you for taking the time to post this review. We are continually looking to improve our facilities and have taken your feedback on board. We hope to see you again soon!
Fantastic experience: Nice place to play padel in with a very friendly staff. Josh in particular was amazing and great to chat with. He made the experience even more fun.
Hi Ahmad, Thank you for the positive feedback! We hope to see you again at Park Sports Hyde Park.
Fantastic experience: Great place to play padel. Young lad named Josh was super friendly and incredibly helpful guiding us around on our first visit. Highly recommend !
Hi Ahmed, Thank you for taking the time to post this positive review! We hope to see you again soon for another game of Padel!
Fantastic experience: Lovely coffees, croissant and cookie to fuel our walk. Great coffee art as well, well done
Hi Mark, Thank you for your positive feedback and for taking the time to post this review. We hope to see you again soon at Park Sports for another coffee and snack!
Fantastic experience: This is a lovely hidden park sports the venue has outdoor tennis courts and a few football pitches which are fenced in. They have wonderful staff who are very friendly and they are helpful. They have a small stall with tennis rackets and balls for people wanting to use the courts. They have a coffee and food options. It's a beautiful location in the park and it is a hidden gem. I highly recommend here for the facilities. If you found my review helpful please press like. Thank you
Fantastic experience: Great tennis coach Luke
Positive experience: Such a lovely corner.
Negative experience: Hyde Park is a great venue but new website even worse than old one and can't get through on phone.
Negative experience: Horrible coffe, terrible food quality and the customer service is really bad. They should review the way that they are doing their business. For the expensive prices they should have more quality in their food e.g A coffe that start with the name "Nutella" WITHOUT Nutella but a cheaper chocolate instead should be review.
Fantastic experience: Got lost a few times but had a great time.
Fantastic experience: Lovely green every where
Fantastic experience: Fantastic cafe in the park easy access for my wheelchair
Fantastic experience: Booked a tennis session...no complaints
Positive experience: The park is perfect to go with children of different ages, entretaining for all. Also it is fenced which helps with kids' safety. Did not love the café. Took a long time to get the order and quite expensive. They have child's chairs which came in handy.
Negative experience: Mens toilet is very disgusting they need more attention on cleaning......
Positive experience: Central London location. Can't beat that!
Negative experience: Beware - group lessons are essentially a SCAM. Courts are nice, but don't expect to get any better, have any time with the ball, or any opportunity to hit against somebody competent. Will put you back in the game because you don't improve technique (in fact cements in bad technique due to lack of any basic supervision). Incredibly poor experience and incredibly poor customer service to boot.
Fantastic experience: Nice staff, good court and amazing location for us! Will be back again soon
Negative experience: Terrible coffee, terrible staff, no cash payments.
Positive experience: Very nice place
Fantastic experience: Visited the cafe as part of office party for team building. Barbeque arranged was nice and clean facilities across the cafe.
Fantastic experience: What an incredible little Cafe in Hyde Park. After a bike ride it was the perfect little place to stop and get a coffee and delicious snack to cool off on a perfect summers day. The staff were super friendly.
Fantastic experience: Amazing to walk around. Went to see the Princess Diana fountain which is so relaxing and beautiful.
Fantastic experience: It was amazing. The plants super well-maintained and the corts were pristine. Had an amazing time playing tennis and will make sure to come back again. recommend it to anyone enthusiastic in playing Tennis! :)
Fantastic experience: visited their café after the jubilee and must say their smoothies were delicious, ice creams and coffee great and all at a great price - very pleasantly surprised. Toilets and indoor facilities spotless and airy. Can't offer a review of the sporting facilities as just got a peek but looks good.
Positive experience: Nice place, bad coffee. Don't know how to make coffee.
Positive experience: Nice little cafe for a quick bite and drink with customer toilets. Also refreshments outside for your furry friends too.
Fantastic experience: Been to new entrance of Hyde park. Loved the children's play area. Has a table tennis area to play.
Positive experience: Great stop for a coffee
Fantastic experience: Played tennis here today, like a few times before. Great fun!!
Fantastic experience: Ideal for a Sunday morning stroll and a cup of coffee
Fantastic experience: The Will to Win Centre in Hyde Park is beautiful and lovely. There are tennis courts, which you to have to pre-book online, but you can walk in and get some drinks or some nibbles, and then when you go through the doors, you get a beautiful park. For hot summer days, an ice-cream van will go into operation.
Fantastic experience: I was reading and working in the café part of this club the last day. A nice place to stay.
Fantastic experience: Always nice place to revisit.
Negative experience: Maybe the most unfriendly and unhelpful people I have ever come across. Consistently rude, not willing to help at all. A shame as the location and grounds are excellent but does not excuse the incredibly rude way the staff seem to be.
Positive experience: Pretty easy to get to. Folks at the desk are pleasant enough. You also have a cafe with drinks and bites. The courts are in decent shape. We played for 1 hour and lost 3 of our 6 balls. We desperately need lessons. Sadly, one of the instructors we reached out to failed to respond to our email. Ah well, whatcha goin to do?
Fantastic experience: Nice coffee and staff really friendly
Fantastic experience: A very wide open space Near to the bus stops
Fantastic experience: Good Padel courts
Fantastic experience: Nice coffee spot in Hyde park
Negative experience: Staff extremely unhelpful and unreasonable.
Fantastic experience: Great facilities for Adults and children to play tennis. My daughter had mini tennis camp, it was really fun. The coaches are energetic helping the children building their confidence in tennis. Highly recommend this place
Positive experience: Padel for the win. Nice clean court.
Fantastic experience: Free pingpong table
Fantastic experience: Tennis, padel, coffee shop and children's play
Fantastic experience: Amazing place! Didn't have time to rent the space for sports but the cafe and staff are amazing! (Highly reccomend the chai latte!)
Fantastic experience: Had a company Lawn Bowls event here today. It was great, Darren the bowls coach was really good and Courtney, who looked after us was fabulous. The drinks flowed and the BBQ was amazing. Compliments to the chef and the lovely lady who looked after the drinks. We didn't win but we had a blast - thank you.
Positive experience: Nice cup of tea
Fantastic experience: Lovely little cafe friendly staff not over priced
Positive experience: Excellent. Coffee and service good and a bonus chat with the owners of a boxer dog. Life in London is made much more pleasant by unexpected encounters in our many pleasant parks and cafes.
Positive experience: Bike service point
Fantastic experience: Excellent beautiful
Positive experience: Used to be a very nice place but I guess pandemic austerity has taken its toll. Microscopic piece of carrot cake for a hefty price (it used to be twice the size pre-pandemic).
Fantastic experience: We did not use the sports centre, in fact we were looking for a cafe in Hyde Park as thirsty and dehydrated from a long walk in V&A. The cafe is a short walk from Exhibition road entrance and was open at almost 6 pm on Sunday, very friendly staff.
Positive experience: Great game of bowls here, and the pitch was empty. Good customer service but there were quite a few unsupervised kids running around - not a problem, but worth noting if you're looking for a quiet retreat in Hyde Park
Positive experience: Very nice tranquil place to relax . Would prefer if they did cans of drink rather than bottles.
Negative experience: Very Rude and disorganized staff. If you are not able to cope with 4 people waiting to pay you'd better change something. You lost 2 customers.
